There is something in the house

Something wakes me up in the middle of the night
I look around but all I see, is darkness everywhere
There is something in the house, but it’s out if sight

A few seconds I pray for light, but do I really wanna see
The thing that moves among my things, as if it has the right
There is something in the house, what does it want from me

There it was, that sound again, and this time it was clearer
Like a spider looking for a prey, a thrill crawls up my spine
There is something in the house, and it’s getting nearer

The fear grows stronger every second, changed the colour of my hairs
I pull my covers to my chin, and pray to all the gods
There is something in the house, it’s creeping up the stairs

I hear a scratching, I feel a grin, a snarling by the door
Though the dark I think I see a mouth with million teeth
There is something in the house, and it moves across the floor

The smell of fear, the sound of claws, is filling up the air
I don’t even dare to breathe, it might just bring it closer
There is something in the house, it’s now inside my lair

I’ve realised, I know it now, my life hangs by a thread
The thing that is inside my home is not the friendly kind
There is something in the house, it’s underneath my bed

What is it, this evil thing, that I’m about to meet
A thunderstorm roll outside, a lightening strikes a tree
There is something in the house, it’s sitting on my feet

I know It’s only seconds left, ’til I will get eternal rest
So I lay down and close my eyes, and wait for death to come
There is something in the house, it’s laying on my chest

I feel the teeth inside my throat, and everything turns black
I feel my body lifting, it doesn’t touch the bed
There is nothing in the house, but soon I will be back
